Director of Payment Solutions

The Role 

The overall goal for the Director of Payment Solutions is to ensure that the Company operates its payment processing, its payment systems and its R&F tools at an optimum high, while developing and executing the Group’s payments strategy and maintaining & developing the portfolio of payment providers.


  • Oversee and maintain relationships with 40+ suppliers, review and negotiate contracts, and understand how changing processes and systems can impact cost, performance or efficiency.
  • Ensure that the Group remains at the forefront of payment solutions (Banks, PSPs & acquirers) by expanding the current portfolio and introducing new solutions.
  • Responsible for the team which is managing provider issues, while ensuring the operations teams have the right tools and training to deliver the business requirements.
  • Act as the Sales Manager for the Payment & Risk functions within the Company, towards your B2C Colleagues, and Potential B2B Partners
  • Ensure ongoing and continual legal, risk and operational review of each payment method or provider offered on all sites within the Group.
  • Monitor and review changes to the legal framework on Payments & online gambling in jurisdictions that the Company targets
  • Work with the Product  and Ops Organisation to ensure that internally developed products meet the business requirements of stakeholders and that team projects are being delivered correctly
  • Assist in internal and external audits, as well as help meeting regulatory requirements relating to payments and providers (e.g. PCI compliance)
  • Identify new risk and payment solutions, perform due diligence, product and competitor analysis, reviews of agreements, negotiate fees, introduction to the Company
  • Lead and maintain the roadmap relating to onboarding of PSPs, R&F as well as EKYC providers as well as the necessary prerequisites for the introduction of new markets.
  • Actively decide on strategic payment items when it comes to brands acquired but not yet integrated in our proprietary Payment system..
  • Design and be responsible for t achieving/exceeding KPIs covering optimisation of cost, availability in order to maximise acquisition, conversion ratios, retention and approval rates.


  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience working for an online gambling operator with payment provider management capacity.
  • Substantial experience in optimising payment solutions and managing a payment provider portfolio
  • Proven experience in managing prioritisation based on business value
  • Strong experience in negotiating contracts and commercial terms with payment providers
  • Extensive experience of payments management in the gambling world with a strong focus in the markets where Betsson Group is primarily active.
