Betsson Group Strengthens Information Security Credentials with ISO27001:2022 Certification from Bureau Veritas

Betsson Group has achieved certification to the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard through Bureau Veritas, reinforcing its commitment to the highest levels of information security and operational integrity.

Having first obtained ISO27001:2013 certification in 2018, Betsson has consistently maintained compliance through annual surveillance audits and full recertification every three years. In December 2024, the Group transitioned to the latest version of the standard, ISO27001:2022, which introduced revised control categories and enhanced requirements reflecting today’s digital operating environment.

In May 2025, Betsson completed a strategic switch from the British Assessment Bureau (BAB) to Bureau Veritas (BV) as its certification partner. This decision formed part of a broader effort to consolidate ISO-related activities under a single global certification body to support consistency and efficiency across jurisdictions.

This new ISO27001:2022 certification covers Betsson’s operations in Sweden, Malta, Hungary and Estonia, and applies to the secure design, development, delivery and management of its online gaming platforms. The scope includes 93 controls across four categories – organisational, people, physical, and technological – supporting robust practices in platform development, change management, data protection and operational security.

Following the switch to Bureau Veritas, the Group also obtained additional ISO certifications for its Italian operations in June 2025, further reinforcing Betsson’s commitment to quality, sustainability and governance across key markets.

The ISO27001:2022 certification by Bureau Veritas marks a significant step in Betsson Group’s continued commitment to information security, regulatory alignment and the protection of customer data across its global operations.
