To celebrate Earth Day on the 22nd of May, we launched Betsson’s Global Green Week from April 21–25. Several of our offices worldwide participated in a series of initiatives to promote greener habits and create a positive environmental impact.

Our Betssonites across the globe took part in a variety of activities:

Colombia

Our LatAm Hub in Bogotá organised multiple initiatives, including a campaign to reduce the office’s carbon footprint, an interactive recycling station, an educational talk on waste disposal, and an Earth Care Kit for employees. The kit included a sand timer for showers to help reduce water usage, a reusable shopping bag to cut down on plastic waste, and a reusable coffee cup to limit disposable cup usage.

But that’s not all—our Betssonites also participated in the race Carrera Verde Colombia, supporting the Fundación Natura ecological restoration programs across the country, contributing to the conservation of local species and ecosystems.

Estonia

From hands-on creativity to meaningful exploration, Tallinn’s #GreenWeek was all about sustainable living, community, and connecting with nature.

The week began with an embroidery workshop where participants learned to upcycle and personalise old clothes, turning repairs into art. Next, they visited the local zoo for an inspiring behind-the-scenes tour focused on conservation, biodiversity, and the science behind protecting endangered species. The week ended with an upcycling workshop where our colleagues transformed everyday items like jars, vases, and flower pots using moulding paste, eggshells, and paint, proving that sustainability can be both practical and beautiful.

Georgia

Our Europebet team in Georgia kicked off the week with a gardening workshop and wrapped it up with a Botanical Garden tour. They also received eco-friendly gifts such as tote bags and reusable canteens to help reduce single-use waste.

Hungary

In vibrant Budapest, our Betssonites recently moved to a new office. Green Week was the perfect opportunity to work on their new office garden! They painted and prepared the planting boxes at the start of the week and, by the end, planted and watered seedlings—celebrating both their efforts and the beginning of new growth.

Lithuania

For the third consecutive year, our colleagues in Vilnius participated in their now-traditional tree-planting activity, contributing to a greener, healthier future.

This time, they planted young spruces and pines, making the most of the fresh air, good laughs, and great teamwork.

Malta

In Malta, a variety of activities encouraged greener habits. Throughout the week, our Betssonites could collect a mini terracotta pot with soil and mint seeds to take home. At our Experience Centre and E2 Hub, we promoted our ongoing Book Swap—bring in a book you’ve already read and leave it for someone else to enjoy. We also treated ourselves to vegan and raw snacks and introduced a Reusable Mugs Initiative in the cafeteria to reduce single-use waste. At our betFIRST office, we had a planting activity. Our colleagues are looking forward to the next one.

Sweden

In Sweden, we offered juices from Rsqued—a brand that creates juices, smoothies, lemonades, and shots from rescued fruits and vegetables. Any unused produce is composted and turned into potting soil and fertiliser. We also served sodas that are both ecological and Fairtrade-certified and distributed eco-friendly seeds for tomatoes, basil, and flowers for our Betssonites to plant at home.

During the week, employees could take home nutrient-rich soil made from their own lunch leftovers. To wrap up Green Week, we organised a clean-up lunch walk, collecting litter from the streets of Stockholm. Afterward, we enjoyed a lovely lunch together.

Globally

On April 25, we hosted a special ShareON session featuring Ecostack Innovations. The session, presented by Mark Mansoldo, Environmental Scientist at Ecostack Innovations, explored humanity’s impact on Earth’s resources and highlighted how we can drive meaningful change together.

The session was recorded and shared on our internal communications channel, allowing our Betssonites to watch it at their convenience.

At Betsson, we’re proud to support initiatives that promote greener habits and a more sustainable future.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating creativity, nature, and conscious living!
