Miguel Gener Díez is the lucky Betssonites who won the Betsson Group Global Poker Tour and is going to Las Vegas! We caught up with him to ask a few questions ahead of the big game.

Vegas, here he comes!
The World Series of Poker is THE poker festival, set in vibrant Las Vegas, Nevada. 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of this event, making it the world’s longest running and most prestigious poker tournament series.
“This is the poker highlight of the year! Thousands of Poker players from all around the world are travelling to Las Vegas to compete for the bracelets, especially on its 50th Anniversary,” Miguel says.
Miguel will get to play at the main event on 5th of July (Betsson covers the $10 000 buy-in) with the chance to win millions!
“The dream of every poker player is to play at the Main Event. Last year, there were almost 8 thousand entries and a prize pool of more than $74 million, with $8 million for the 1st place… Which Poker player would not like to try luck in this event?”
Do you have a strategy?
“Not at all. I am an amateur player, so let’s just hope for the best. I’ll ask the Poker Gods for some good luck!”

The Betsson Group Global Poker Tour was played across our offices, with qualifying rounds around the world and online. The grand finale was played in Malta, where Miguel took home the trophy.
“It was a very interesting experience as it was the first poker tournament I played. Living this experience helps you to realize that playing for fun with friends has nothing to do with the real poker game,” he says, and continues:
“It is absolutely great that Betsson arranged such a competition!”
What happens in Vegas…
We were curious to know what Miguel was most looking forward to when visiting the city that never sleeps, apart from playing at WSOP of course.
“I have always wanted to visit this glitzy “sin city” and see for myself if everything that’s said is real,” Miguel says.
“I’m travelling with my partner. This is our first time in Las Vegas, so she is just as excited as I am with this trip. She is my lucky charm!”
Miguel says he is looking forward to spending one day at the Grand Canyon and to visiting the stunning hotels from the Hollywood movies he’s seen.
“Even getting married by fat Elvis if I win anything in the tournament!” he promises.
