Data Engineer

This role within the data engineering team will contribute in designing and developing our platform to fulfil the business needs and to also improve our systems. Within this capacity you will have the chance to design new data pipelines, maintain platforms hosted on data streams for batch-loading and real-time visualisations. The chosen candidate will work closely with our data tracking team helping to process customer behavioural data.

Who are we looking for?

We are hiring a Data Engineer who will be joining a team working who is responsible of maintaining, evolving and delivering new exciting requirements on our Datawarehouse platform. You will be involved in

Maintaining and evolving our existing data platform;
Applying transformations to data streams;
Being involved in data modelling following data standards such as Inmon, Kimball, Data Vault;
Involvement in the development of BI Dashboards and creation of reports;
Ensuring data quality by verifying data consistency and accuracy;
Keeping up to date on research and development of new technologies and techniques to enhance our data platform;
Familiar with the change and release management process;
Have an investigative mindset to be able to troubleshoot – thinking outside the box when it comes to troubleshooting problems and incident management;
Full ownership on projects and tasks assigned together with being able to work within a team;
Able to document well processes and perform knowledge sharing sessions.

Some Key Requirements of what we would be looking for:

2 years’ experience in a similar role;
Experience ins database scripts SQL, PLSQL, T-SQL, and Analytical function in SQL;
Scripting experience in PowerShell or Unix Scripting;
Have development experience in both Microsoft, Linux or cloud environment;
Have experience with data Integration tools and data warehousing concepts;
Knowledge with orchestrating data pipelines using SSIS, Airflow or NiFi;
Be familiar with any Programming Languages like .NET, Java, or Python;
Have a good understanding of Big Data and cloud technologies – AWS and Snowflake;
Familiar with software versioning tools like Git;
Familiar with infrastructure scripting using Terraform;

It would be extra awesome if you also have experience with:

Experience with Web Analytics solutions such as Google Analytics and Firebase;
Experience in reporting tools like Qlik Sense, Tableau or SSRS;
Have a good understanding of data warehouse and ETL concepts;
Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Capable of coordinating with stakeholders and other team members to solve problems;
Can effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects;
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
